two scores on stars!

Two kinda big scores on stars, cementing my recent run of MTT dominance (at least by my own modest standards). First, I got seventh in the sunday $100 rebuy for over $6K the day after I got second in the tilt $100R for almost $14k - my third sunday $100R final table, although I've never broken fifth. Then, today, I took down 5th in the $50R, a tournament that I traditionally have not had much success in, giving me another $3k, making it a total of $23k over three days in big buyin rebuys. I made a questionable call as the short stack allin from my big blind with J9o against djk who pushed from the small blind with Q5o and I couldn't run well enough to beat him. Can't complain though of course. Looking forward to FTOPS - will post updates.

2nd in FT 100 re!!!

Finally eradicated my final two tables curse and got 2nd in the full tilt $100 rebuy. In the last 3 tilt $100 rebuys (including the 6 max one on weds) I've gotten 7th, 15th, and 2nd. Took home over $13,800 for this one, although first was over $21,000. Played hyper-aggro headsup against a guy who was pretty tight, and wound up overplaying two hands... tilt rivered me a miracle chop when he had my top pair dominated, and then i ran AJ into AQ. Can't complain though, as this is my 2nd biggest score ever and it's only two and a half weeks after my biggest score ever. Lookin forward to a big Sunday, then some well-deserved off time.

Back in business

Haven't been posting for a while, but figured with FTOPS comin up, I might as well start writing about things again. Just wrapped up a huge January in which I shipped the stars nightly and finished 4th on stars, 5th on tilt for the month. I also just had a horrific streak of near-misses in many tournaments, including:

- 15th in the full tilt $300 six max Saturday (20k+ for first)
- 19th in the stars nightly $162 Saturday (30k+ for first)
- 7th in the full tilt $100 rebuy Saturday (20k+ for first)
- 15th in the stars $100 Sunday morning (20k+ for first)
- 19th in the stars $100 Sunday afternoon (23k for first)
- 17th in the stars $100 rebuy Sunday afternoon (40k+ for first)
- 19th in the stars $200 Second Chance (60k+ for first)

And that was just the weekend. The week included some other doozies, including me finishing 19th and 15th in the daily $50 and 2pm $50 on stars, then getting like 70th in the nightly $50, all on the same day. Hopefully I can keep getting consistently deep - I'm not sure if I'm just hitting a rough patch of bad luck late in tournaments, or playing bad when it counts. The losses are all about equally split between coolers, bad beats, and coinflips, so it's something I'll have to keep an eye on. Got big hopes for this weekend... GL to me.
